Motorcyclist dies in crash on rural highway

KENTWOOD - A 42-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash on a rural stretch of highway.State Police said Robert Dykes of Franklinton died when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup around 6:30 p.m. Friday on Highway 1055.  Dykes died at the hospital a few hours later, troopers said in a news release.Investigators said Dykes was speeding when the driver of the pickup turned into Dykes' path and the two vehicles crashed.  Dykes was thrown from the motorcycle.
