Man drowns at Jefferson Lake apartments

BATON ROUGE - EBR Sheriff’s Office deputies say a man drowned in a lake near an apartment complex on Jefferson Highway.Deputies said they were dispatched to the location in reference to a drowning victim. Investigators learned that the victim was at the Jefferson Lakes apartment complex and allegedly wasn’t feeling well when he walked onto an island in a lake at the complex.The victim fell into the lake, panicked as he got further away from the bank and eventually disappeared
