Louisiana closes oyster harvest in Hackberry Bay

BATON ROUGE - Louisiana wildlife and fisheries officials say all oyster harvest will close at one-half hour after sunset on Sunday on the Hackberry Bay Public Oyster Seed Reservation in Jefferson and Lafourche parishes.The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says the closure is necessary because recent harvest pressure has depleted the limited supply of oyster resources in that area.
