Greensburg's mayor's office open - again

GREENSBURG - For the second time in about four months, Greensburg is without a mayor.Mayor-elect Willie Hurst resigned Tuesday. Hurst, a former alderman, was elected in March to serve a four-year term as mayor beginning Dec. 1. Gov. John Bel Edwards later appointed him to the post on an interim basis after the June 2 resignation of Burke Jones.Hurst told The Advocate his resignation has nothing to do with an earlier disagreement with the town's police chief over the handling of a domestic abuse
