Floodgate closing in St. Mary Parish ahead of anticipated tidal surge

FRANKLIN - The Franklin Canal floodgate will be closed in anticipation of the storm surge expected from Francine's landfall later this week. Once the floodgate is closed, the Franklin Cana will be pumped down to make room for expected heavy rainfall. The floodgate and its pumps will be manned by the Franklin Fire Department for the duration of the storm. Permalink| Comments
