Assumption Parish sheriff-elect taking office early

NAPOLEONVILLE - Assumption Parish sheriff-elect, Leland Falcon, will be sworn in earlier than originally planned, following the resignation of former sheriff Mike Waguespack in February.
Falcon, who defeated incumbent Waguespack in October, was to take office July 1.Falcon was working in a transition capacity with Waguespack, when Waguespack, a certified public accountant, resigned in February to take a job in the private sector.
