$67M teacher training grant awarded to La. education dept.

BATON ROUGE - Louisiana's education department is getting a nearly $67 million grant over five years to strengthen teacher training in rural school systems.The Teacher Incentive Fund money will be spent across 137 schools in 16 rural school districts, aimed at helping to offer more training opportunities and to attract more high-quality teachers to those schools.Superintendent of Education John White announced the grant in a statement Friday.The school systems include Allen, Assumption, Caldwell
