(CNN) — Phthalates, chemicals commonly found in personal care products, food processing and packaging, and household items, could be linked to delayed language development in children, according to a study published Monday in JAMA Pediatrics.
The research, conducted in both the United States and Sweden, looked at the levels of phthalates in pregnant women in relation to language development in their children.
