Maryland Officer Fatally Shoots Man After Confrontation

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a Maryland police officer fatally shot a man after the two had a brief physical confrontation.
Montgomery Police Chief J. Thomas Manger tells news outlets the man began to fight with an officer who tried to speak with him Monday. Manger says it’s unclear why the officer approached the man, who police don’t believe was armed. He says the officer shot the man multiple times and later gave him first aid.
