Maryland House Republicans Focus On Battling Crime

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland’s House Republicans outlined measures aimed at fighting crime on Thursday as priorities of the House GOP.
Del. Nic Kipke, the House minority leader, said the state is in the middle of a violent crime crisis, and lawmakers need to act.
One measure would require people convicted of a violent crime to serve at least 90% of their sentence before they are eligible for parole.
