Maryland Board OKs Scaled Back Toll Lane Plan
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A Maryland board has approved changes in a public-private partnership to add toll lanes to the Capital Beltway and Interstate 270.
The 2-1 vote by the Board of Public Works on Wednesday enables the state to solicit bids for the highway expansion project in the suburbs of Washington to ease traffic congestion.
Gov. Larry Hogan and Comptroller Peter Franchot voted for the plan, while Treasurer Nancy Kopp voted against it.
