Five Charged With Child Abuse After 11 Emaciated Children Found In Trailer

(CNN) — The message, forwarded by a detective in another state 1,500 miles away to the Taos County Sheriff’s Office in New Mexico, was to the point: “We are starving and need food and water,” it said in part.
It came, apparently, from someone inside a makeshift compound hidden in Taos County, and made its way to the sheriff’s office through someone else who received it and got it to law enforcement in Georgia.
It was enough to trigger a raid Friday by Taos County sh
