Worth noting: Valley Republic posts record earnings

Valley Republic Bank achieved a fifth consecutive quarter of record earnings during the first three months of this year, the Bakersfield-based institution reported. The bank said its net income from Jan. 1 to March 31 came to $789,000, 32 percent greater than the same period a year before.
