V E Day celebration in Washington D.C. today

BAKERSFIELD,CA - Today marks 70 years since the fall of Nazi Germany and the Axis powers.
On this day on May 8, 1945, the term V E Day was created, meaning "Victory in Europe," signifying when Germany's surrender was announced.     Celebrations and memorials will take place around the world today.
