Two-year-old Taft rape case now solved

TAFT, CA - Detectives with the Taft Substation have solved a two-year-old sexual assault case on Tuesday with the arrest of the prime suspect.

Detectives say the incident happened two years ago when a 22-year-old victim asked a male subject to use his cell phone. 

The victim reportedly followed the male subject inside a home under construction where he raped her.

The subject was identified as 54-year-old German Tapia of Bakersfield.
