Two plead not guilty to kidnapping girl

The couple accused of abducting a 2 1/2-year-old girl from an Oildale home earlier this week pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of kidnapping, conspiracy and burglary.

Both Monique Farias, 33, and her boyfriend, Ricardo Arredondo, 37, are being held on $135,000 bail. Their next hearing is scheduled for Jan. 22.
