Thrift store owner gets a scare from military canister

The owner of a local thrift store says he'll be more careful the next time he brings merchandise into his store after a bomb scare yesterday.

Clinton Lassiter called the Sheriff's Office just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, after finding a metal canister inside a storage container he bought last month.

Printed on the side of the canister were the words "500 feet cord of detonation."

The bomb squad was called to the Red Dogs Gold Mine Thrift Store as a precaution.
