The legend of Leonard Nimoy

(NBC News) Leonard Nimoy, the famed actor best known for his role as Mr. Spock on the original "Star Trek" TV series and subsequent films, passed away Friday morning at the age of 83. 

Born in Boston in 1931, Nimoy was acting in a neighborhood theater by age 8.
