Tehachapi mom convicted of child abuse learns her fate

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Tehachapi mother, found guilty of willful cruelty to a child after leaving her toddler alone overnight in a field, was sentenced Monday.

Stacey Leigh Nikkel was sentenced to 2 years, with credit for time served. Nikkel was arrested in June -- after her two-year-old daughter was discovered by two women in a Tehachapi field -- and Nikkel was nowhere to be found.
