Taft deputies arrest a man for assault with a deadly weapon

TAFT, CA - Taft deputies have arrested an assault with a deadly weapon suspect and another man after a short pursuit.
The incident happened on April 13, during a verbal altercation in the 100 block of Naylor Avenue in south Taft.
During their investigation, deputies learned that the 21-year old suspect, Preston Mcavinue of south Taft, had been in a dating relationship with a 26-year old female who lived at the residence, though the couple recently separated.
