Supervisors combine two county departments to save money

Kern County Board of Supervisors have approved a merger of the county's Board of Trade with Employer's Training Resource.

The two departments will now become a Division of the Economic and Workforce Department.

This would create a position for a chief deputy county administrative officer that will be filled by Teresa Hitchcock.

Her current position as the executive director of the Board of Trade will be eliminated as well as the Employer's Training Resource director position.
