Study shows Kern County youth are disconnected

BAKERSFIELD, CA - A new study finds many Kern County teens and young adults are falling behind, jobless and not pursuing higher education.
The study conducted by "Measure of America," looks at people between the ages of 16 and 24 across the nation.        Bakersfield was among the top six cities with the highest rates of unproductive young adults at 20 percent.     That's higher than the nation's 13.8 percent.     It cost taxpayer
