State water allocation increases slightly

There is a bit of good news for farmers suffering from the drought.

The State Water Project has announced that they will increase their water allocation from 15 to 20 percent this year.

The small increase is thanks to recent storms in northern California.

For Kern County that means an increase from 150,000 acre feet of water to 200,000 acre feet of water.
