Sky the limit for annual kite festival

Shards of color danced on pink strings against the slate-gray sky of southwest Bakersfield Saturday to honor the return of spring to India.

Small triangle kites in pink, blue, marigold and metallic silver danced over Windermere Park, riding on whispers of wind.
