Sheriff's Office deputies begin wearing body cameras in pilot program

A group of Kern County sheriff's deputies began wearing body cameras last month in a pilot program that will be discussed at a press conference Thursday.
A total of 17 deputies assigned to the Wasco substation received training and were issued body cameras on March 20, according to a Sheriff's Office news release Tuesday. The cameras were issued through vendor WatchGuard.
