River bottom fire keeps crews busy

BAKERSFIELD, CA- Kern County Fire and Bakersfield Fire joined forces to battle a river bottom fire Tuesday.Just after 11:00 a.m., the Kern County Fire Department received multiple calls for a fire in the Kern River bottom of Oildale, west of the North Chester Ave bridge.
First arriving crews encountered a fire in brush and trees approximately 2 acres in size. Firefighters swept the area to ensure there were no persons in the area.
