Proposal to privatize county libraries on agenda

BAKERSFIELD, CA- Kern County Supervisors will discuss the much talked-about proposal to potentially privatize the county libraries.

In a memo to the board to be discussed tomorrow, County Administrative Officer John Nilon says such a deal with a private company should expand library operating hours, increase the book purchasing budget, and increase access to digital resources like computers and the internet.
