Panel discussion raises awareness of child abuse

BAKERSFIELD, CA - April is child abuse awareness month and the Department of Human Services said there are more than 2,000 reports of suspected child abuse or neglect in Kern County every month. 
The most recent report from the Kern County Network for Children shows that last year an average of 10 children a day were abused or neglected.      The network hosted a panel discussion on Thursday to get the community talking about child abuse prevention.     &
