Oildale gets new tree project

Citizens for a New Oildale has added 10 potted trees to a stretch of North Chester Avenue, part of its ongoing efforts to beautify the area. Chevron North America provided the $5,500 funding for the project. Burnt brown pots containing magnolia trees and ferns went in Saturday in front of five stores: Santa Barbara Pizza, Three Dogs, Donut Star, Trout's Lounge and Kim's Flowers.
