Officials begin efforts to tear down tent city

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Bakersfield's so-called tent city will soon be a thing of the past, as the city building department started removing the wall and fence surrounding the campsite on Friday.      Nearly 50 people live on the property, which is located on South Union Avenue.      City officials said the lot is unsanitary and against city laws.     The city attorney's office said the property is in a trust and officials weren't able to contact
