Officer involved in fatal shooting Tuesday identified

The Bakersfield police officer who fatally shot a 47-year-old man who threatened others with a knife at a downtown hotel Tuesday evening has been identified as Nestor Barajas.
Police said Barajas, a one-year veteran of the department, has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation into the shooting.
