Newspaper subscribers targeted by scammers

Area residents including customers of The Californian say they've been targeted in recent months by a scam that has hit newspaper subscribers nationwide.

A mailed notice warns subscribers their subscription is about to end and encourages them to mail in a payment to lock in a low rate.
