New program helps immigrants who are victims of crimes

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Local families who have been victims of crimes will be assisted by new specialty prosecutors known as the family violence unit.
The new unit was announced Thursday by the Kern County District Attorney.
The group will prosecute all felony domestic violence, sexual assaults, physical child abuse and elder abuse.     Eight district attorneys, one supervisor and one investigator will be assigned to the unit.     The creation of this unit will also all
