New event to put local track on national map

BAKERSFIELD, CA - For more than 60 years, Kern County has been the premiere destination for stock car fans in California. Now, a new event is looking to put a local track on the national map. 

The pits at the Kern County Raceway Park are jam packed as the first practice session for the inaugural Winter Showdown draws to a conclusion. 

It's an event that came together in eight months, but hopes to leave an ever lasting mark on the community.
