New emergency dispatch center opens

BAKERSFIELD, CA- Kern County has a new Emergency Communications Center. The county held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday for the facility. The ECC handles about 100,000 calls a year and the county said it was in need of an update. The county says thanks to the hard work and ingenuity of their staff they were able to remodel the existing ECC into a modern dispatch center with more than twice the space of the last one.
