Man recovering after being hit in drive-by shooting

A man is being treated for multiple gunshot wounds after being hit in east Bakersfield.

The shooting happened about 8:30 Sunday night in the 900 block of South Robinson Street.

Witnesses say 39-year-old Arthur Washington was walking in the area when gunshots were heard.

Police responded and found Washington suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Washington is currently in stable condition at a local hospital.
