A reporter who spent thirty years covering local stories for the Bakersfield Californian has died. Steve E. Swenson lost his nearly 3-year long battle with pancreatic cancer this morning, something he wrote about in the past year. Using his humor, and honesty through writing as the way to share with his friends how he planned to live out the rest of his life.
