Local student to compete in state virtual spelling bee

Cole Ragsdale, a seventh-grader from Bakersfield, will compete against about 200 other charter school students in a California state spelling bee.

Cole beat seven of his peers Tuesday in a Bakersfield competition held by California Virtual Academies.
