Latino population increase
BAKERSFIELD, CA - New population estimates from the Census Bureau show for the first time Latinos are now the largest ethnic group in California.
As of July 2014 about 14.99 million Latinos live in California, edging out the 14.92 million whites in our state.Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jay Tamsi said, "The Latino community is very important. It's vital. It's going to shape and mold the future."Kern County's population is 51.5% Latino.
