Kwanzaa festivities showcase Bakersfield history

Now a worldwide celebration to recognize African American culture, Kwanzaa actually began in California in the 1960s. Just right across the northern border of Kern County, Allensworth is one of the major cities of origin for the Kwanzaa celebration.
