Kern County finally gets a little more rain

Although rain fell on Kern County Tuesday morning, it's going to take several larger storms to help make up for the ongoing drought.

The total rainfall in Bakersfield as of 9 a.m. was .09 inches, National Weather Service Meteorologist Gary Sanger said. For the season beginning July 1, a total of .75 of an inch has fallen on the city, well below the normal of 1.08 inches.
