Immigrants line up to apply for driver licenses

Cain Garcia was standing in front of the Department of Motor Vehicles office on F Street in Bakersfield Friday morning, studying at age 27 for his first U.S. driver license exam, when a stranger tried to draw him into a debate on illegal immigration.

The man who approached him was upset that, as of Friday, undocumented immigrants like Garcia can apply to drive legally in California.
