Huge storm closes freeways, kills power in and around Bakersfield

Bakersfield was spared the torrential rains that crippled northern California this week but what it did get Thursday night and Friday forced highway closures, downed trees big and small and caused widespread power outages throughout town.

And more rain was coming.
