Fog delays Hosking bridge demolition one week

Bakersfield's once-mighty fog has lost some of its obscurity, but still cast a wet blanket Tuesday on a major highway project in the southwest, postponing demolition of the Hosking Avenue bridge.

Officials at the Thomas Roads Improvement Program said the bridge removal -- supposed to have begun Sunday -- will instead start next week, and could continue through most of January.
