Fire crews declare "Lightning Plan" for coming storms

BAKERSFIELD, CA- The Kern County Fire department has declared a Lightning Plan for the county.The plan limits how many resources are sent to a fire believed to be caused by lightning.Kern County Fire Department Public Information Officer Tyler Townsend said the plan sends one unit to reports of of a lightning caused fire.That unit will determine if more resources are needed.
