Dogs take flight to new homes

Wings of Rescue took another 150 Kern County dogs on Friday to shelters in the Pacific Northwest where they are expected to be adopted into homes within a few weeks. Wings has been flying dogs from Kern to out-of-state shelters where they need adoptable dogs for about the last three years. It has saved nearly 2,000 local dogs in that time. The charity needs local donations to continue the flights and has launched Hightail Bakersfield to keep up the momentum on its fundraising efforts.
