Common Core scores mostly low, but some local kids shine

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – The scores are in and California’s kids didn’t score well on the first test of their knowledge of the new Common Core standards.
In Kern County, about 105,000 students in the third through eighth and eleventh grade took the English and math test.
