Coalition proposes voter-approved funding for libraries

An overflow crowd of library supporters gathered Monday night at Beale Memorial Library to talk about privatization of the Kern County Library Department. Mandy Walters, the co-founder of the Advocates for Library Enhancement, laid out some of the reasons she believes that Kern County shouldn't outsource library operations to the for-profit Library Systems & Services company.
