CHP out in force to prevent DUI incidents

BAKERSFIELD, CA. - The California Highway Patrol's maximum enforcement period against drunk drivers begins tonight.
Starting at 6 p.m., the CHP reports all available officers will be out in force -- conducting enhanced enforcement efforts and assisting motorists wherever needed.     The CHP said after last year's maximum enforcement period, five people were killed in traffic collisions, two of whom were pedestrians.     During that same period, 221 DUI arrests we
