Chevron seeks approval for drones

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Chevron says it wants to use drones in Kern County.

NBC News reports 200 companies are asking the FAA for exemptions to begin flying their drones now, without waiting more than a year for the new proposed drones rules to be finalized.

Chevron says it has filed an application with the FAA to request authority to conduct commercial flight activities over their field assets in the San Joaquin Valley in California.
